All cheshire cats in the world feel the wind on their wire-slicked whiskers,

don’t let ’em tell you any different…

‘cept you ought to know they drink starlight

through their coats, and prowl the night

under a rare & remarkable guiltless moon.

  1. First off, you had me at ‘cheshire cat’—-but seriously…..drinking starlight and prowling the night under a guiltless moon…um, yes please, don’t stop 🙂

  2. I love the wonderful, brilliantly far-too-long title. ‘It’d have to be a very strong short poem to follow that,’ I thought – and then you gave us such a delectable verse which absolutely succeeded.

  3. I am still so moved by this. If I had never seen or heard of a cat before, this would make me want to not bring one into my home, but to take myself out to the streets to walk beside one. You make it sound like the perfect life.

      1. It’s not even just that. It’s the connection to nature and the magic you imbue her essence with. The way she drinks starlight through her fur/hair. What’s your favorite kind?
