he broke

he
broke a
coffee pot today

two
decades drained
&he’s sorry

for
losing time
with his girl

who
is forty–
not a girl

and
she blinks
we’re alright dad

i
have memories
of your love

when
your hand
petted my hair

and
his eyes
got all moist
