The Giraffes are Hungry

the    g  i
r  a  f  f  e  s  are hung-
ry. But that’s not quite right.
Let me rearrange the wording.
The g i r a f f e s
are willing to stick
their purple
parts out
to strang-
ers will-
ing to
pay.
Which
doesn’t
make gi-
raffes gig-
olos. But what
I’m trying to
say is that g-
iraffes aren’t
too shy or proud
to let their in-
side parts be known
right across from
the lions den and
on display for all
the children
with tree
leaves in
their up-
turned
tiny &
grubby
little
hopeful
fingers.
Giraffes
aren’t a
too proud
bunch to
accept a
hand-out
because
a giraffe
can al(l)-
ways eat;
that’s the
long and
short of it.

My first concrete poem for Blogging U, and since I don’t want to risk messing up the picture, I’m pressing publish! Formatting was a bear, no pun intended.
