And What About Bob

and what about Bob
etherized on the
kitchen floor

adulterous bottle
spilling
over linoleum

against his volition
against his quivering
liver

Bob leaves
the undertaker
to siphon

our marriage
through one
main artery

  1. Beautiful dark twistedness, Angie–
Seems to be a bit of that about tonight.
Love the image of siphoning a marriage through an artery–Wow!

  2. This is deep and you can really write

It sounds good and it feels like it should

    excellent 🙂

    Ally

    • Thank you so much, Ally! It’s good to get confirmation now & then that I can write😃 I will look for your entry now

  3. I’m with Johnny – that siphoning image is awesome.

  4. that was really depressing! Now Bill Murray in What About Bob? was not depressing!

    • True story. My aunt Sandra was widowed last week. She found him, dead from over consumption! So sad. Now she’s alone and will have to move, etc. terrible

  5. I echo all the praise for siphoning. Happy to know I’m not the only one combing the thesaurus for these entries. Loved your piece.

    • Momo, I’ve loved my thesaurus for decades! Thanks for the praise for my depressing take on What About Bob. I was caught up by your ‘adrift’ in your entry. So, I guess you could say, I caught your adrift. Puny pun…I know.
