leaves litter the ground
en route to the hospital
sky hangs out pale cloth

shake it off, baby
Saturday is a fever
sure to blow over

over-reacting
spiny puffer fish inflate
in waiting room tank

Sunday cracks the bone~
doctor delivers the news
of leukemia

hard pressed but not crushed
carnations in glass vases
transfuse window light

    • Elizabeth, it’s my best friend’s daughter who was diagnosed. Yes, it’s A.L.L, the most treatable kind. Good news considering cancer’s verociousness.

    • Thank you so much for that! We are on clean home/welcome home duty tomorrow to prep for their release this week, for a short time. Clean toilets and no chemo…heaven
