Step One in Writing

WRITE (WITHOUT LIMITS)
This weekend, Trifectra asked us to sum up our writing process with just three little words. They wanted dry wit, pathos or otherwise…I think I’ll go with the truth unpunctuated (because the truth is, I don’t know if the period should be inside or outside of the parenthesis) again…should I punctuate here?

  1. In this case I believe the period, had you used one, should go on the outside of the ending parenthesis. I think it’s only if you have a complete sentence inside a parenthesis that you need to put it inside…I think. Like…

    Writing (is in my blood).
    Writing. (It’s in my blood.)

But don’t take my word for it…

    Regardless, nice words.

  2. I thought I’d read somewhere that punctuation goes inside the parenthesis, but it doesn’t look right to me. It’s probably much more complicated than that, in which case I’d say go with Draug’s explanation 🙂

  3. I use writing forms, like I do recipes for food…guidelines.

    Hummm. Three words.

“Write for yourself.’ or ‘Break all rules!’

Grammer might be helpful to some, as are rules. But I find that if I don’t know them (the rules) I don’t mind altering them in the slightest.

‘Creativity is inspirational’ or ‘Inspiration is creative’

OK that’s four sets of 3, 12 words, 9 over. I am such a rebel.

    Thanks for your visit.
