(Inspired by) Beauty

Galloping free in open fields

I found you tall and slender
Bright golden face transfixing

God, you have done yourself proud
This is what I was thinking

And that I could admire you more
At my humble dining room table

But your love could not be stolen
Or plucked like a flimsy flower

Sorry now I begged you to bend
Compromising your upward sway

My sister, sunflower, myself
Blaze of beauty’s shown me the way
